The Big-D Idaho Falls office began, in earnest, in 2013 when a project construction team with ties to Eastern Idaho was relocated to Rexburg, Idaho to manage the construction of the Central Energy Facility project at BYU-Idaho. Company leadership then discovered there were other employees from Eastern Idaho eager to pursue more work locally. In turn, Big-D encouraged their eagerness and desire to establish a presence throughout Eastern Idaho. That presence continued to grow until Big-D officially opened a regional office in Idaho Falls in 2018.
Big-D Idaho Falls is proud to offers clients the ability to work directly with a local contractor who can devote a higher level of attention to projects, typical of a smaller contractor, but who is also backed by the significant resources of a much larger firm. With Big-D Idaho Falls you receive the best of both worlds – the dedication of an earnest small contractor and the resources, professionalism, and experience of a much larger organization.
While the roots of Big-D Construction are ever-expanding, our Idaho Falls office takes a community-centered approach to our work. The Big-D Lindon office opened in 2005 with the focus to increase Big-D’s presence in Utah County. The Lindon office constructs a wide range of project types annually, with key market sectors being commercial buildings, higher education facilities, multi-family housing, industrial, and mining projects. Big-D Lindon is a fully self-sufficient office, able to offer comprehensive Preconstruction and Construction services, and is staffed with a Preconstruction Director, a team of estimators, and a variety of market-specific construction team members.
Building and maintaining local client relationships has always been the driving factor for the Lindon office but being local for their employees who appreciate working on projects close to home and minimizing long commutes is equally as important. Big-D Construction was founded in 1967 in Ogden. It was our original home, first headquarters, and where it all started. The Ogden office is where our company culture and core values were forged and where Big Dee and his founding leaders built a company based on equal respect for customers and employees. Big-D Construction built this new dairy processing and distribution facility in the late 1990s. Encompassing approximately 250,000-sf, at the time of construction completion, it was one of the largest dairy plants in the United States and incorporated state-of-the-art technologies. Forward thinking innovation included a palletless Automated Storage &amp; Retrieval System (AS/RS) which enabled significant reduction in labor in the cooler load-out area by as much as 50 percent and thereby decreasing operating costs. Completion of this project enabled Santee Dairies to be positioned as the “low-cost producer” within the dairy industry. In years to come, Santee Dairies would be acquired by Dean Foods and the plant is currently an Alta Dena facility.

Business Depot Ogden just got a bit sweeter with the completion of the new Hershey’s Distribution Center. Hershey’s is the nations second-largest candy maker. Due to the extreme heat sensitivity of chocolate, the Hershey’s Distribution Warehouse was constructed of an energy efficient steel frame building, insulated metal panels, a single-ply roofing membrane and an elaborate mechanical cooling system which is proprietary to Hershey’s.
